Illustrations

Natural ability. Many techniques.

I started my career as an artist from childhood trained in watercolour, and later comic book inspired illustrations. It got me started and lead me to commercial art, and on to the advertising field. I beame a visualizer for the art directors, creating layouts, visual story boards simply by hand. Later recognizing my creativity and the ability to conceptualize an idea based on a client’s brief, I was promoted to be a senior designer and subsequently an Art Director.

Never giving up on my talent and hands on designing process, it is my starting process for a design even today, with a quick rough sketch on a pad before transferring it to the computer. It’s a rare combination especially these days, as more and more creative people are dependant on the computer and now completely taken over by AI. Pen to paper, paint to canvas always keeps my creative juices flowing.

Some of the illustration styles that’s lost today are line drawing or inked art, with marker rendering and acrylic painting. They are replaced by vector and digital art done by photoshop and other applications. As an old school creative individual, it’s something I have also embraced and mastered as some of the samples below shows, by vector and digital illustrations along with he traditional techniques.
